Well, here’s something that we missed apparently. Sean Lennon has been touring in support of his new, and in our opinion AWESOME, album Friendly Fire. He has made some US appearances for the album, and one of these was recorded and is available through public radio. Have a listen, and enjoy! Here’s some more info about Sean and the show.
There’s a great Sean photo gallery collection at the NPR page as well. ENJOY! Here’s what we’ve read and heard.
Being the son of a musical legend doesn’t automatically qualify Sean Lennon to be a great musician, so it’s a pleasant surprise to hear his beautiful, simple melodies and evocative voice. Lennon performed a solo set from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on Oct. 27.
Before embarking on a solo career, Lennon pursued collaborations with musicians such as his mother (Yoko Ono), Lenny Kravitz and Cibo Matto. He then met up with Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch, who was so impressed that he released Lennon’s first album, Into the Sun, on his label. While Lennon also pursues art and film, he continues to develop as a musician, releasing Friendly Fire this month.
