Earlier this year the was rumor that Paul’s next prject may be a classical work. Rumor had it that it would be a classical guitar concerto. Maybe this painting was his inspiration. Could it be a new muse for sir Paul? Perhaps. We are not sure of the current status of the classical guitar project, but it seems that Paul has the classical guitar on his mind lately.
Maybe he loves it so much because the woman in the picture is a lefty like Paul.

SPELLBOUND Sir Paul McCartney has become obsessed with an oil painting . . . called The Guitar Player.
The former Beatle makes regular trips to an art gallery to view the work by Dutch Master Jan Vermeer, staring at it for up to 40 minutes at a time. Mega-rich Macca, 65, has even enquired about buying the centuries-old painting, which depicts a teenage girl posing with a guitar.
But its owner English Heritage told him it will never be sold for any price. Art expert Bart Cornelis said last night it could be worth more than £50MILLION. Pals say Macca uses the gallery at Kenwood House in Hampstead, North London, as a haven during his bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Heather.
He has viewed The Guitar Player at least ten times recently. And one attendant said Paul – famed for playing his distinctive Hoffner bass left-handed – “seemed hypnotised” by it.

i actually have seen this painting, and i also love it.
Its a fantastic painting isnt it.
But its not left handed though is it, has it been printed on the website correctly.

The Sun is a junk newspaper that is interested only in celebrity gossip (lies) sensational and biased political stories (lies) and lots of undressed girls. And sport, which is just for the lower classes. Its a disgrace, as are all the newspapers in the UK except the FT.

Back to the point; I love the painting and now I know where I can bump into Paul! I’ll just spend hours standing there looking at it until he comes by and then I can strike up some small talk like, “How ’bout putting a companion DVD out next year of all the videos you left off The McCartney Years.
Maybe Paul is using it to escape his life as well… or maybe he just likes left handed female bass players. 🙂
Nope, she is not playing left-handed, unless the picture above has been reversed somehow from the original. She’s playing like a righty.
