VIDEO: Unseen Beatles footage found.

It looks like some new and previously unseen Beatles’ film footage has surfaced, and of course the BBC is there to share it with you all.

The Beatles at the BBC

I would also check out this GREAT fan page, Mystery Tour Memories. It talks all things Magical Mystery Tour, and collects some previously unseen photos and footage as well.  It looks quite impressive.

According to the Arthouse Pictures website, the project originated in 2001 by writer Keith Gray for what was planned as a book about the making of the film. After meeting with producer David Lambert in 2007, the project turned into a proposed TV documentary. Production was to begin in September of that year with the first interviews done with musician Spencer Davis, former UK secretary of the official Beatles Fan Club Freda Kelly and Mike McCartney, Paul’s brother.

In addition, filming was completed in Newquay, Cornwall and Trent with stories from eyewitnesses, in Totnes, Devon, interviewing former Beatles tour manager Tony Bramwell and in London interviewing Victor Spinetti.

  1. Hey, thanks for using the information from my website Abbeyrd’s Beatles Page at http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/fabnews.htm.

  2. Matt what does this Steve mean??
    he sounds sarcastic.
Steve reply me and say me what you mean.

  3. It wasn’t sarcastic. Most of the item here about the unseen Beatles footage was taken basically word-for-word from my website. See the 6/26 item at http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/626raremmtfootage.html.

To be specific, my item read, in part:
“According to the Arthouse Pictures website, the project originated in 2001 by writer Keith Gray for what was planned as a book about the making of the film. You can see clips from the project, here.
Also on the Arthouse website is this snippet.

This is what I was referring to.

  4. Ulla, this isn’t really your business.
let these gentleman handle this among themselves.
    I love both sites.
Steve and Matt work hard to give us Beatle fans a place to hang out and read about the Beatles.

  5. Hi all,

Just to follow on from Matt’s point about the new Beatles footage being found.

Next month we are releasing the new DVD “The Beatles – Magical Mystery Tour Memories” in conjunction with Arthouse Pictures.

This is an upbeat rockumentary featuring the vivid memories of those who witnessed the making of the cult Beatle movie, The Magical Mystery Tour, in 1967 and features a celebrity cast along with anecdotal stories and, most importantly, previously unseen 8mm home movie footage, as well as eye-witness accounts from fans, on-lookers and the cast of the movie.

Featuring Dame Peggy Spencer (choreographer), Neil Innes (Bonzo Dog Do Da Band), Tony Barrow (Beatles press officer and close friend of Sir Paul McCartney), Mike McCartney (Paul McCartney’s brother), Freda Kelly (principle secretary to the Beatles Fan Club), Spencer Davis (Spencer Davis Group), Tony Bramwell (Beatles road manager), and Victor Spinetti (actor and close friend of John Lennon) sharing their memories with Victor supplying a fascinating commentary to the film.

It promises to be a huge hit. You can pre-order from our website (www.wienerworld.com)…the release date is August 25.

    Spread the word!
