Ringo announces 10th All-Starr Band summer tour.

Is this really the 10th All-Starr Band that Ringo has had?  Wow how time flies.  It looks like Ringo is hitting the road again this summer.  Coming soon to a theatre/casino near you is your favorite drumming Beatle and his merry band of….well band.  Ringo’s All-Star tours are usually a greatest-hits package, but somehow I think it may be heavy on soem tunes from his latest release, Liverpool 8.

Now if we could only get Paul to announce a new tour, then we would have a Beatle-filled summer with many live dates and tour watches.  At least we know that Paul will have one majpr appearance with the Liverpool 2008 Capital of Culture festivities.

For now, rock on for Ringo one time, and as always, enjoy the show.  We cannot wait to hear, and see your tour reports.

Here’s what we’ve read.

2008 continues to be a very busy year for Ringo Starr, fresh off launching his new CD Liverpool 8, he announced today that he will be touring the US and Canada this summer. The 10th All Starr-studded ensemble will include returning All Starrs (in alphabetical order): Colin Hay, Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart, Edgar Winter, and first timer Gary Wright and on drums, Gregg Bissonette.

In its 10th incarnation, the All Starrs will continue to inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds. No other single stage produces the hits like Ringo’s All Starrs, each singularly accomplished in their own right. They are artists who complement Ringo and share his message of peace and love. As Ringo said in a recent interview, “My live shows are a peace-and-love fest. That’s my main promotion, really.”

Since 1989, Ringo and his All Starr Tours have rocked sold out venues with great musicians who love to play. Each of the All Starrs lend their most popular songs to the set which already boasts Ringo’s impressive hit list that includes, “With a Little Help From My Friends”, “Yellow Submarine”, “Photograph” and “It Don’t Come Easy”.

The 31 US and Canadian tour dates will begin June 19 at Fallsview Casino in Niagra Falls, Ontario, with a show at New York’s Radio City in the first week on June 24 and wrapping up at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles August 2nd 2008.

  1. The lineup ain’t what it used to be….remember Felix Cavaliere, John Entwistle, etc.?

  2. That’ll be my ultimate summer, if I get to see Ringo live! I can’t wait, he’s a cool dude.

  3. […] was announced that Ringo Starr will be touring around the United States this Summer!. 2008 continues to be a very busy year for Ringo Starr, fresh […]

  4. i am looking forward to seeing ringo live.
i was hoping to see some new faces.
but i’m not conplaining because at least he’s still out there recording great music and putting on a great live show.
i do hope he adds what goes on, back to his play list.
i hope he plays at least 2 new songs from liverpool, 8 too.
    his shows are so great.
    1989, 1992,1995,1997,2001,2003,2006 and now 2008……

  5. I wonder whether he’s ever going to perform in Europe again.
It’s not fair of him to tour just in the US…
Europians are waiting for him! especially me 🙂

  6. For me the last three lineups have been abysmal comedowns from the heights of the old tours (Todd Rundgren, Dave Edmunds, Ian Hunter, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Billy Preston, Dr. John, Joe Walsh, John Entwhistle, etc., etc.,etc.)…I saw the very first one, and it was amazing. I hope the All-Starr tours someday live up to the name again…as this just isn’t worth my time or money (and I’m 90 min. from where the tour kicks off in Niagara Falls). Blessings!!

  7. I am surprised that Dave Stewart is not part of the band.

Honesty I have never heard of any of these people. Of course I am under 30!

  8. I wish Ringo had confidence in his own material enough to do an actual solo tour. 20 years of “All-Starrs” is enough. Isn’t he tired of “Yellow Submarine” yet? C’mon Ringo!

  9. This lineup is kind of weak. Edgar is great. How about -guitar: John Fogarty, Nancy Wilson, Al Anderson (NRBQ) bass- Nick Lowe !!! keys- Christine Mcvie Drums – LEVON oh well wew can dream…

  10. who is in ringo’s 2008 all starr band

  12. im going to see ringo play in MA w/ beatle crazed friend
