Paul McCartney to write Shrek 4 soundtrack.

This news is a few days old, but I forgot to write a post about it earlier in the week.  It looks like Paul’s newest manager, little one, Beatrice, has spoken.  It seems that she has made our beloved Beatle into quite the Shrek fan.  This is promising news for all you McCartney fans out there, jonesing for new material.  I know that Mike Meyers is a HUGE Beatle fan, and I’m sure that he would love to get Paul involved as well.

It also looks like Paul may have a small speaking role in the film too.  Could Paul be playing some kind of beetle in the fourth Shrek film?  I think that would be cute.  We’ll keep you posted.

Here’s what we’ve read.

Ex-Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney is said to be in talks to pen the soundtrack for Shrek 4.

McCartney has been named as being lined up to write the music for the next instalment to the animated franchise and may also have a small speaking role in the film.

Previously, the former Beatle’s James Bond theme “Live And Let Die” was sung in Shrek 3, after it had originally been nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1974.

McCartney is said to be extremely keen to get involved with the next instalment, as his 3-year-old daughter Beatrice is a particular fan of Shrek.

“I’m a huge fan of Shrek,” the Beatle told London’s The Sun. “As is my little girl. I can do a really good impression of him–I put on my best Scottish accent!”
