Harrison lyrics to go up for auction.

There are a few pieces of memorablia that would be at the top of my list.  Unfortunately, my bank account would never allow for this.  Would they trade body parts…arm, leg kidney perhaps?  I have seen many Lennon-McCartney original lyrics, but few and far between have been from George’s own hand, and certainly none were as huge as this offering.  Impresive.

Here’s what we’ve read.

George Harrison’s handwritten lyrics to the Beatles song While My Guitar Gently Weeps are going under the hammer with an estimated value of up to £400,000 ($A996,000).

The lyrics contain lines not included in the recorded version, which appeared on the White Album in 1968.

At the bottom of the page Harrison wrote: “The band leader said he ain’t playin’ no more” — believed to be a reference to tensions between the group at the time.

The lyrics are being sold by a private collector and are expected to fetch £250,000 to £400,000. in the Cooper Auctions US sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, next Monday.

Also up for sale is an original handwritten score by Sir George Martin for the Las Vegas show Love.

The manuscript is signed by Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Harrison’s widow Olivia and Sir George himself.
