Paul McCartney forgets how good the Beatles really were.

It looks like Sir Paul is having a senior moment.  Does he really forget?  Paul has always played the shrugging Boy Scout, but very discretely we see that small smile form in the corner of his mouth.  Never the braggard, he needs a reminder every once in a while of the Fab Four’s greatness.

Here’s what we’ve read.

Paul McCartney is surprised at how good The Beatles’ songs are.

The music legend – who is currently going through an ugly divorce battle with Heather Mills – says she is often left shocked when he listens back to the band’s old records because they are so impressive.

He told Britain’s Daily Express newspaper: “I look back on Beatles and wonder how we did it.

“One of the joys of touring is revisiting songs we never performed on stage. I’ll sing them for the first time in 40 years and think, ‘These are young composers, a nice song. Then I’ll hear a line or chord change and think, ‘Bloody hell, that’s good.’

The 64-year-old along with the late John Lennon penned the majority of the Fab Four’s biggest hits and both are regarded as two of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Sir Paul is currently in the process of divorcing second wife Heather who he has a three-year-old daughter, Beatrice, with.
