Maxwell goes under the hammer.

It looks like the lyrics to my least favorite Beatles song are going up for auction.  I would love to own these just for the sake of irony I suppose.  Or, if no one bids on it, will the song simply disappear?  HA, HA!

Here’s what we’ve read.

A guitar belonging to Jimi Hendrix and Beatles lyrics scribbled by Paul McCartney are among the highlights of a rock and pop memorabilia sale in New York next month.

The sunburst Fender Stratocaster owned by Hendrix for a short time before his death in 1970 was expected to reach between US$80,000 ($119,506) and US$120,000, according to pre-sale estimates.

McCartney’s original hand-written working lyrics for Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, which appeared on 1969 album Abbey Road, was expected to reach between US$200,000 and US$300,000.
