Sean Lennon: “I’m not my dad.”

This is the album that I am anticipating this fall.  Hold all presses, stop all cars, I cannot wait to hear it in its entirity.  I have heard a few tracks, but can’t wait to experience it films, music, and all.  So we are not comparing anyone to their dad.

Sean Lennon has hit out at critics who expect him to be exactly like his dad, the late Beatle John Lennon.

The young musician, who is preparing to release his new album FRIENDLY FIRE, resents expectations that he should make the same music as his late father.

AUDIO: Lost Macca collaboration with George Michael to be released.

Wake me up before you go-go……take me dancing tonight.  It looks like the collaboration to end all duets is to be released in the near future.  There are some artists that I really wish would just retire.  You can guess which half of this duet I am referring to.

A previously unreleased duet between GEORGE MICHAEL and SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY will finally see the light of the day on a forthcoming greatest hits album. Michael’s TWENTY FIVE collection is scheduled for release in November (06) and will feature the MCCartney track HEAR THE PAIN. The CARELESS WHISPER singer’s greatest hits collection, which comprises hits from his WHAM! and solo career, will also feature a song recorded exclusively for the album called UNDERSTAND.

McCartney say’s “I Feel Fine.”

You know McCartney, while releasing a critically acclaimed album in Chaos and Creation, premiering the LOVE-fest in Vegas, also releasing a critically applauded classical album, has been having a tough time.  It looks like he is handling his personal life well considering the crisis though.  He does mention that he’s finishing off another project.  Could it be a new pop album…you know…the other tracks from the Chaos and Creation sessions? Here’s what we’ve read.

Paul McCartney says he’s “doing fine,” despite the turmoil surrounding the breakup of his marriage. McCartney, who appeared Monday at a news conference to launch his new classical album, “Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart),” did not comment directly on his split from his second wife, Heather Mills McCartney.

Asked how he had been coping in recent months, McCartney said: “I’m doing fine thank you. It’s OK.

“I’m enjoying music. It’s something I love to do. It’s something that sustains me. So I’m enjoying it, finishing this project off and also the next one.”

Capitol building is being sold.

Does it really look like a bunch of records stacked with a stylus on top?  I kinda think so I guess.  It looks like this icon of the record industry is officially changing hands.  Maybe they’ll have condos inside.  We’ll see.

A Hollywood landmark is about to change hands as EMI Group said Thursday it will sell the historic Capitol Records tower but plans to lease back the space as part of a strategy to sell off non-core assets.

Argent Ventures LLC in New York is buying the cylindrical-shaped tower from London-based EMI for $50 million. Argent is buying some properties adjacent to the tower, which is near the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Capitol will keep the headquarters for its label in the 13-story building, along with its studios. EMI said in a release that it will retain the trademark and rights to the Capitol Tower’s imagery.

Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre to update Lennon classic

We’ve heard a lot of really really good and bad Beatle-related covers.  Everything from country to bluegrass to jazz.  Rare is it that the rap world, save DJ Dangermouse’s mashup Grey Album.  It looks like the Doggfather is the next in line to enter the world of Beatle related covers.  This one looks intriguing at least.  I look forward to hearing it.  I mean they (Snoop and Dre) are legends.

‘Imagine Russell still struggling/No Def Jam’ raps Snoop Dogg on his forthcoming album in a rather bizarre update of John Lennon’s classic ‘Imagine’.

Snoop and Dr Dre have collaborated on ‘The Blue Carpet Treatment’, Snoop’s new record. ‘Imagine’ will be their first thing together in 5 years.
