"Riding to Vanity Fair" is another one of his masks. And "Friends to Go". And "Nod Your Head". I'm not from an english speaking country, and could be misunderstanding, but to me, nod your head could easily translate to suck my dick. Nod it up, nod it down. (hihi). Clever play with words. And "Gratitude". Listen to how he sings those words, he's not really that grateful is he. Sounds a bit uptight dosen't he, like he forces himself to be grateful. What he's been going through the last couple of years, is of course a strain on a personal level, but artistically, it has brought out the naughty boy in Paul. And I just have to admit that I enjoy it. After all that ebony and ivory living in peaceful harmony and play the pipes of peace, it's good to hear some of his raunchier sides coming through again.

Paul McCartney writes great lyrics these days. From "Flaming Pie" and on, there seems to be more personal depth coming into his songs. And originality. And fortunately, McCartney is wise enough to let people make up their own minds about what the songs are about, instead of killing the song by telling everybody what to think. "Mr bellamy" is a good example. That song is about whatever you want it to be about. Like great poetry. it's much more difficult to write lyrics like that, with several layers of meaning in it, than clishés and something obvious to everybody.
