George Martin was probably the third beatle. The first half of The Beatles career was dominated by John Lennon, the second half by Paul McCartney. In between were George Martin as the guiding light. Gaorge Harrison wasn't that big a creative force in the group, but don't misunterstand me, he of course was important, to the sound og the group, his guitar playing and he made some classic songs. And Ringo was the drummer. He didn't play on Yestarday for instance. That was a McCartney/Martin collaboration. George Harrison wasn't very involved in Sgt. Pepper. George Martin was involved in everything they ever did in the studio. Except producing the "Let It Be" album of course.
