The final ballad of John and Yoko

There has always been a flurry of Beatle books coming out each and every year.  Some of the the are shoddy at best.  Sometimes, though, you get a stunner or two in the bunch.  this year is no different.  All you John and Yoko fans better hold onto your hats, it looks like a beauty [...]

Tom Snyder Beatles interviews coming to DVD artwork unveiled.

Two weeks ago we posted details of the new Tom Snyder / Beatles DVD set of interviews that is hitting stores next year.  The interviews on the DVD’s look to be nothing short of impressive.  We cannot wait for this set to come out.

I hope the content is as sharp as the cover artwork.  Too cool.

Yes, that really is John Lennon and Yoko Ono barrelling around on a snowmobile, courtesy of their pal Ronnie Hawkins

It must have been a nice time for John and Yoko to get away from being Beatle John.  The Beatles had all but dissolved, and John was getting down to the business of promoting peace, and being John.  Oh to be a fly on the wall seeing John and Yoko hanging out with Ronnie Hawkins.  It must have been a fun time [...]

Paul McCartney and Ozzy Osbourne set to perform together at the Brits

This article had me thinking.  Do you think that we will ever see a true “deuts” album from Paul McCartney.  Usually these albums are an afterthought.  Yes, I like them, but there are a lot of clunkers throughout a lot of these albums.  The Sinatra albums are great, the Tony Bennett duets album is wonderful.

A McCartney duets [...]

Happy Holidays!

Happy holidays to all you Beatle fans from all of us here at the blog!
We look forward to celebrating a Beatle New Year with you all.

Macca’s memories (and even in 2007, they’re not all bad ones)

There has been a lot of nostalgia and reflection happening in the Beatle clan over the course of 2007.  Some milestone birthdays, new releases that give lip-service to the past, songs that sound like the past, and plaques memoralizing friends of the past.

All of that being said, it’s amazing to see our boys so forward thinking in [...]

Ringo’s new album comes on digital wristband.

OK OK most Beatle fans have gotten the hang of the idea of downloading their music, Ringo, why must you confuse us?  Now, we are getting our albums tied in with direct merchandise.  It’s kind of cool, but I don’t know if I’d want to wear my album as a bracelet.

I know the White Stripes have released a collector’s [...]

McCartney live in Paris on A&E this weekend.

Set your DVR’s ladies and gentlemen!  It looks like Paul is coming to a TV near you this weekend.  Paul’s recent surprise gig in Paris is hitting the small screen.  This article mentions that it is short on extras, but it is simply a a showing of the concert footage.  Which, I don’t presonally think [...]

December Dilemma: You Have “Wonderful Christmastime” Stuck in Your Head

So you may remember that at this time last year, McCartney’s famous Wings’ Christmas classic tune took a beating.  This year seems no different.
It looks like one writer is having a bit of fun at Paul’s expense.  Personally, I embrace the song, and sing as much of it as I can, much to my wife’s dismay.  I [...]

Ringo Starr Returns to Capitol for Liverpool 8

How ironic is it that Ringo Starr has returned to his old label just as Paul McCartney has left it?  There are a few ironies with this highly anticipated album from our favorite drummer.  It is ironic that Ringo is highlighting this release with a debut performance at the Capital of Culture performance in January as well.  No [...]
