It looks like there may be a new destination to visit for all the Beatle freaks in London. It seems that The Abbey Road cafe is getting a new lease on life as The Beatles Coffee Shop. What a cool idea. It is run by longtime, and well-known Beatle historian and tour guides, Richard and Irina Porter. I hope someday soon I can say that I will make the jump over the big pond and pay them a visit. With this coffeeshoppe right next door to Abbey Road studios it seems like a logical place to make a visit when you make your next pilgrimage across the zebra stripes and towards the mecca of Beatle sites Abbey Road Studios.
Visit the Coffe Shop’s official website.
If any of you fair readers make a stop over there, please give us a comment or two, and please send us pictues. We want to hear all about it.
Here’s what we’ve read.
A life-long Beatles fan and tour guide has opened a Beatles coffee shop close to Abbey Road Studios where the famous pop group recorded its albums. It is also the location of the zebra crossing on which the ‘fab four’ were photographed – now a place of pilgrimage for fans worldwide.
The Beatles Coffee Shop is at St. John’s Wood Underground Station (Acacia Road, NW8 6RE) and is run by husband and wife Richard and Irina Porter. Richard has been a Beatles and rock’n'roll tour guide for the past 15 years. His tours have featured in TV shows and newspapers around the world. The shop sells hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and pastries and a range of Beatles and Abbey Road Studios merchandise.
